At Appmeg, we prioritize data sovereignty and user custodianship of data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle information in relation to our products: our Android application, Hoard Hero (hoardhero.com), our browser extension, Clutter Cutter (for Chrome and Firefox), and our corporate website.

1. Hoard Hero: Data Collection and Storage

Hoard Hero is built using a local-first architecture to ensure you remain the custodian of your information.

• On-Device Storage: All data you input into the app, including inventory records and images, is stored exclusively on your personal phone.
• Zero-Server Model: We do not maintain central servers to store or sync your personal inventory data.

2. Hoard Hero: Optional AI Features

Hoard Hero offers an optional AI Item Recognition feature for inventory image identification.

• User Activation: This feature is disabled by default and is only active if you explicitly select "Enable AI Item Recognition" within the app settings.
• Gemini AI API: When enabled, the app utilizes the Gemini AI API to identify items in your images.
• Data Usage: Images are transmitted to the API for the sole purpose of identification. Appmeg Pty Ltd does not capture or store these images on our own servers during this process.

3. Hoard Hero: Analytics and Device Identifiers

To improve the app and enforce functionality limits, we collect specific, anonymized data:

• App Activity: We use Firebase Analytics to collect general app interactions (such as screen views and button taps) and in-app search history (query lengths, not actual text) to understand feature usage and improve the user experience.
• Device Identifiers: We collect your Device ID (e.g., Android ID) strictly for app functionality, fraud prevention, and enforcing AI credit limits. This identifier is transmitted securely via Firebase but is not used for advertising or tracking across other apps.
• No Third-Party Sharing: This data is not shared with or sold to third-party ad networks or data brokers.

4. Hoard Hero: Third-Party Services

Aside from the optional Gemini AI API processing and Firebase services mentioned above, Hoard Hero does not transmit your personal information to third parties. Your inventory data remains under your control on your device unless you choose to use external backup solutions.

5. Clutter Cutter Browser Extension

Clutter Cutter is our browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. It is designed so that no data about you or your browsing ever reaches us — or anyone else.

• No Data Collection: Clutter Cutter does not collect, transmit, or share any data. It makes no network requests and contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, or user accounts.
• Local-Only Storage: Everything the extension saves — your rules, per-site pause state, and your last-picked selector — is stored in your browser's local extension storage on your device. This data is not synced to any cloud service and never leaves your machine.
• Permissions: The extension requests access to the pages you visit, tab information, and local storage solely to apply the rules you have created and to display the number of active rules on its toolbar badge. Page content is never recorded, analyzed for any other purpose, or transmitted anywhere.
• Export and Import: Backing up your rules to a JSON file is entirely user-initiated, and the file is saved directly to your device. We never receive a copy.

6. External Communications

We provide specific channels for user support and engagement:

• Feedback Channel: Information shared through the app's feedback channel is used strictly to improve the application.
• Contact Us Web Form: Information provided via our website's contact form (such as name or email) is used only to respond to your specific inquiry.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
